I reached out to a few local tint shops looking for quotes and Jim, the owner at 979 Tint (their phone number,) replied almost immediately. I explained my build to him and what I wanted and he knew exactly what I was trying to do. When I stopped by I was very impressed at how clean his shop was and how nice the front office and lounge area were. I could tell early in our conversations that Jim was the right one for the job, and every opportunity that came along he proved me right. Jen and Jesse are amazing too. The team at 979 are professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They go out of their way to make the customers experience a good one. Among other things, Jim even went out of his way to put me in contact with someone who could fix my AC. 10's across the board with this place, seriously. Highly recommend 979 Tint...
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The waiting room was stocked with snacks and drinks for the wait. The installation was professional and they didn't leave a mess in my vehicle. Unlike other places that I've gone to in the past. Definitely coming back in the future.
I don’t write reviews often, maybe once every couple years for extraordinary businesses, but when I find a place like this one, its an obligation to spread the word. I cannot recommend these guys enough. You’re not only getting amazing work done here, but you’re also supporting awesome people. Jim, the owner, is 100% about the customer. He wants you to be happy with their service and isn’t trying to tax you for every little thing. Prices are the BEST IN TOWN. Especially for 3M ceramic which is a top tier film. You’re not going to find a cheaper, better, or friendlier service than 979 Tint. Jennifer, Jessie and Angelo-such a great staff. If you’re an advocate for small businesses, you have to support this one. And after you go and get your tint done and love it, leave a review because these guys deserve it.
Went in a week ago to have my 4 door Jeep Wrangler tinted. Extremely satisfied with the service at this place. The owner and all the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable they were happy to answer questions show me around the shop. I ended up getting a awesome price for quality 3m tint. I did my research before tinting and found the 3m tint is one of the very best and 979 offers 3m tint for the same price other places offer budget brand tints. 10/10 this place is awesome they have snacks and drinks in the waiting room for customers as well.
Highly recommend this place. I’m absolutely in love with my windows and I plan on having them do more stuff to my car. They are quick yet 100% quality work. Very informative they help you pick the level tint you want. The owner is lovely and answers questions and concerns quickly. Their pricing is amazing compared to other places around here. Guys, this is the place if you want professional service. They have a comfortable waiting room with snacks and beverages. The staff is so welcoming and knowledgeable. I went on a Thursday and didn't take long at all. While waiting I walk and did the stairs outdoor to exercise. The prices are very reasonable. Took my Corvette into 979TINT, here in Las Vegas, this week for PPF (protective paint film) and ceramic coating. I feel I did my research upfront to find the right price, but more importantly, the best professional workmanship. When I went in to pick it up I was proven correct. I couldn’t be happier with the results. My car is beautiful. It appears as if it has a glass coating on the body. The shine is incredible! If you want to have ceramic coating applied to your vehicle, I highly recommend 979TINT…
979 Tint did a fantastic job on my new Tesla Model Y. I researched and called numerous tint shops and finally settled on 979. The first reason was that they are extremely responsive. I called for an estimate and left a message. It took them no more than 5 minutes to call me back. In addition to their responsiveness was the price. After getting a couple different quotes I felt their price and what was included was very fair. Lastly, was all the positive reviews both on Yelp and Google. I didn’t see one negative review. And by looking at all the different pics, it’s obvious that they have a lot of experience working on Tesla’s. When I stepped in the shop my intention was just to get my windows tinted. After looking at the brochures I started to ask questions about paint protection and the ceramic coating. The owner Jim came out and explained everything to me in detail. What the car would look like and the benefits on doing the PPF & coating. Not once did I feel like he was just trying to sell me a product. I truly felt Jim was just trying to educate me and answer all my questions. In any case, after talking with Jim for a bit and having him show me other cars they are working on, I decided to move forward and get the whole package. Again I felt the price was reasonable and you could definitely tell the quality of work is top notch. Once I agreed to move forward, Jim also offered to include tint on my lights since I wanted the black out look. They set proper expectations and said it would take about 2 days to finish which it did. When I picked up my car Jim walked me back in the showroom to see my car and I literally couldn’t believe how amazing it looked. Jim mentioned that if I saw any bubbles down the road just to let them know and they’ll fix it at no cost. They also said to bring my car back in a week and they will give me my first car detail for free. If your looking for competitive prices and high quality work go to 979 Tint. Does Las Vegas have window tinting laws?
Yes, the laws for window tinting in Las Vegas actually fall under Nevada State Window tinting laws. These laws only apply to automobiles.
Does Nevada set limits on how dark my window tint can be?
Yes, there are restrictions on your car’s window tinting.
- Windshields: In Nevada, windshields may be tinted from the top off to the AS1 line, approximately 8 inches. (Complete windshield tinting is legal with a doctor’s prescription.)
- Driver & Passenger: The Driver side window and front passenger windows may be tinted; however, the film cannot exceed 35% total Light Transmittance Value.
- All other windows There are not restrictions on any other windows of an automobile.

Nevada Window Tinting Laws
Car window tinting laws in Nevada were enacted in 1993.
We have provided all the necessary information about your car’s window tint, including how dark or reflective the tint is allowed in your state.

Window tint darkness in Nevada
The percent of visible light allowed through your car windows is called VLT: Visible Light Transmission.
The percentage of light allowed through your film and glass in Nevada is very specific and different for sedan cars and SUV cars or vans.
Tint darkness for sedans:
- Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line.
- Front Side windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
- Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used.
- Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.
Tint darkness for SUV and vans:
- Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line.
- Front Side windows: Must allow more than 35% of light in.
- Back Side windows: Any darkness can be used.
- Rear Window: Any darkness can be used.
Window tint reflection in Nevada
Window tint can reflect incoming light and reduce glare and heat.
Nevada window tint law permits a certain window reflection when using a tint so make sure you pay attention to this as well.
Tint reflection for sedans:
- Front Side windows: No reference to reflectivity in the current law.
- Back Side windows: No reference to reflectivity in the current law.
Tint reflection for SUV and vans:
- Front Side windows: No reference to reflectivity in the current law.

Other Nevada window tint rules and regulations:
Nevada does have several other important laws, rules and regulations pertaining to window tinting. They include the following:
- Side Mirrors: Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.
- Restricted Colors: Colors RED and AMBER are not permitted.
- Tint Variance: State laws allow 7% light transmission tolerance.
- Certificates: Manufacturers of film need to certify the film they sell in Nevada. Ask your dealer if they are using certified film.
- Stickers: No sticker to identify legal tinting is required.
- Medical Exceptions: Nevada allows medical exemptions for special tint.
Keep in mind that Nevada tinting laws and regulations may be interpreted differently in your county or place of residence.
